Utah Trip First Installment

Well we left just before 10:00 am EST Sunday May 25th. For some reason I decided to go a different way and went via Greenville (SC), Atlanta (GA), Birmingham (AL), Tupelo (MS), Memphis (TN) finally ending up in Jonesboro (AR) a total of 705 miles. Thank goodness we went that way instead of up through St Louis - the weather was apparently atrocious.

We left this morning just before 09:00 CST and travelled some weird roads as we decided to see a little of the countryside. We went through Ozark country in Missouri then across into Kansas ending up in Wichita. We intended to go a little further but the weather closed in and very bad thunderstorms. Again a good decision because as we entered our hotel room the local TV station advised that all should basically stop travelling just west of Wichita due to the storms and Tornado warnings. So a total of 502 miles and around 9 hours in the saddle. 1,200 miles gone 850 to go - touch wood, weather accommodating we shall make Miller Motorsports Thursday a.m. without much difficulty.

We are both looking forward to driving across Colorado tomorrow afternoon for the very first time.
